PROGRAMMING NOTE from the Author and Archivist

So obviously I just stopped blogging on this platform. I'll get back to it eventually. Or not. I'm taking a break from all social media. It seemed necessary for my mental health.

The last few years have been busy and … challenging:

- 2015 Happened.
- 2016 Let's call it The Lost Year. (Obviously words failed me.)
- 2017 about broke me. Literally. Mentally.
- 2018 was ridiculous, proving 2017 was just a warm up. (Good thing I was already broken so it couldn't hurt as much.#2018TrashCanFire I thought things were going okay, but maybe not?)

- 2019 was such a blur. I know there were highlights, but then stuff happened and carried into the next year...

- And then in March#2020 really took a turn. Who can even categorize 2020? Do we dare?

I kinda want a do-over of some of the last few years. But life doesn’t work that way.

So for now, I'm hunkering down. Regrouping. Trying to stay safe and sort some stuff out.

Stay safe everyone. Stay well.

Photo of the Day: Sacred Snow

Southern Utah Snowfall, Near Diamond Valley (?), Utah, December 2010
presented with these comments:
Who says it doesn't snow in southern Utah during the winter? It snowed TWICE while I was there. I'm glad I missed the major Christmas Nor'easter on the East Coast, but I escape to the southern climes of Utah/Arizona/Nevada so I can walk around with maybe a light jacket in the 40-60 degree weather and to AVOID SNOW.

It was pretty though, and helped to set off some of the gealogical features of the area. On the afternoon of the first storm, as it cleared out of the higher elevations, I went back to the folks' house and rustled Grumpa Max off the couch to drive around to catch the views and chase the light. Our "shooting" trip for the year, as it were.

This is heading out toward Snow Canyon on one turn off or another. While it was too bright one way, and snowing in others, sometimes you get one or two good perspective shots.

Sometimes, as you'll see later, it's the stops that you aren't expecting to make, when you actually get the best photos of the entire trip.

And yes, it's Utah. So there are actually churches EVERYWHERE.
