PROGRAMMING NOTE from the Author and Archivist

So obviously I just stopped blogging on this platform. I'll get back to it eventually. Or not. I'm taking a break from all social media. It seemed necessary for my mental health.

The last few years have been busy and … challenging:

- 2015 Happened.
- 2016 Let's call it The Lost Year. (Obviously words failed me.)
- 2017 about broke me. Literally. Mentally.
- 2018 was ridiculous, proving 2017 was just a warm up. (Good thing I was already broken so it couldn't hurt as much.#2018TrashCanFire I thought things were going okay, but maybe not?)

- 2019 was such a blur. I know there were highlights, but then stuff happened and carried into the next year...

- And then in March#2020 really took a turn. Who can even categorize 2020? Do we dare?

I kinda want a do-over of some of the last few years. But life doesn’t work that way.

So for now, I'm hunkering down. Regrouping. Trying to stay safe and sort some stuff out.

Stay safe everyone. Stay well.

Happy Valentine's Day!

These kids? They are my Valentines. So I sent them something from my heart.

Nevada:
Drew, Sarah, and Cannon
Don't wake them!
He slays me.
Double trouble
Eating healthier than the adults.
Idaho:
Amber, Elle, Nathan, and Jaime
Showing me they have my hearts.
Virtual Hugs from Nathan
Sure, they love each other ... RIGHT NOW.
Warm smiles from Jaime

Apparently, while the East Coast is frozen and snowy, Idaho is having a spring thaw. The crocuses are blooming and the ladybugs swarming.

Thanks to Grumpa for the photos, as well as my sisters-in-law for updates from the kiddos.

How Can It Be? Birthday 43

This year that I turned forty 3
I think I feel now much more free
The threshold of forty was just so great
enriching my life, to so much
I could relate
But adding 3, has further added color to my tapestry
Looking forward to many more years
colors and hues to life's veneers
yet to darn
there will be no tears

And that's pretty much what I did - except for the cake.
Cake came later.

43 Ideas for Birthday 43: Random Acts of Kindness

It's actually the middle of Random Act of Kindness Week

In honor of my birthday, please do something randomly nice for a stranger. Pass it on.

International Random Acts of Kindness Week is February 9-15, 2015. Take this week to step out of your normal routine or comfort zone and attempt a new random act of kindness each day of the celebratory week.

43 Ideas for Birthday 43: Delicious Deliveries

I don't mind grocery shopping, but lately, I hate the schlepping more than anything - and even thinking about what I'm making.

Oh Birthday Fairy - can't you just make my meals magically appear?

MMMM.

I wonder if there are services that I could use?

Like, say ... oh ...

Or this new company which ships you pre-measured out items...

 Meat = good

But actually - this is the closest service and one that I have used - all of twice.

Nettie is super lazy when it's cold.

43 Ideas for Birthday 43: Amazon.com

Yes, yes, I know. Amazon = monopoly ... crushing the little guy.... buy indie ... shop small businesses.

But still, sometimes it is the best option. ESPECIALLY if you have not one, but two large, wish lists on it.

Ah, all the tunes, e-books, pod-casts, and apps that I plan to get one day when I have time, the resources, and oh - say, designated funds ....
