PROGRAMMING NOTE from the Author and Archivist

So obviously I just stopped blogging on this platform. I'll get back to it eventually. Or not. I'm taking a break from all social media. It seemed necessary for my mental health.

The last few years have been busy and … challenging:

- 2015 Happened.
- 2016 Let's call it The Lost Year. (Obviously words failed me.)
- 2017 about broke me. Literally. Mentally.
- 2018 was ridiculous, proving 2017 was just a warm up. (Good thing I was already broken so it couldn't hurt as much.#2018TrashCanFire I thought things were going okay, but maybe not?)

- 2019 was such a blur. I know there were highlights, but then stuff happened and carried into the next year...

- And then in March#2020 really took a turn. Who can even categorize 2020? Do we dare?

I kinda want a do-over of some of the last few years. But life doesn’t work that way.

So for now, I'm hunkering down. Regrouping. Trying to stay safe and sort some stuff out.

Stay safe everyone. Stay well.

Just that, nothing more”

Photo of the Day: Hammock Time

Lockwood/Bielecki's Wild Energy installation, Caramoor's Cedar Walk

It's not even the full-on Festival yet, and already .... I have the opposite of Wild Energy. I am exhausted.

Nay, sick and tired.

I actually think I am running a fever.
Though, it could be allergies ...

But I am TIRED.

Though, to be fair, I had a very full Reunion/Caramoor event heavy weekend AND very little sleep AND an office retreat and a few other life issues all at the same time!

SO MUCH GOING ON FOR THE NEXT TWO MONTHS!

And the Festival doesn't start for 10 more days.

Sigh.

If you need me, I will be dreaming about being out in these hammocks (after being dipped in bug spray.)

Quote of the Day

To quote a friend:

Sometimes you just have to visit that small Mexican town of Incommunicado.
No passport required. No suitcases needed.

Please hold.

This is my brain. This is my brain full of static.

It short-circuited enough today, that it was either:
~ spend the day blogging for the week
OR
~ nap.

I chose the latter. It was glorious.

Naps are totally wasted on the young. I think of all the times I refused to nap ... and I shake my head. I could nap all the time. Every single day.

Posts may resume as the static fades.

I'm going to take my nap now. I don't know what will happen this afternoon.

Mom must have made us do our chores on Black Friday, so the usual Saturday activities were exhausted. Since she ahd originally planned for us to be in NC, we all must have been stir crazy by this point of the holiday vacation.

Too much turkey and togetherness must have made her resort to naptime for everyone in the house. Smart Mom. Sounds like a plan. I need a nap right now!

Darling Demon Drew

You know the expression: Let sleeping dogs lie? Same goes for sleeping children. You don’t know which Drew is going to arise from a deep sleep. Luckily for Auntie Nettie, on this particular day, the nicely tolerant Drew got up and eventually consented to play around with his aunt and his Mom.

So quiet
So cherubic

Why are you people staring at me?

I said NO Photos!

Come on. Leave me alone!

SO THERE!

My aunt is quacked up. Just like my duckie.
Look at those goof offs.
I thought Jabooty was in Africa, but there it is.

Love ya kid!

Speaking of Sleep ...

4 a.m. is NOT a good time to finally try and settle down and go to sleep, especially on a Sunday night/early Monday morning.

3 hours of sleep is a nap, not the recommended daily dosage for a "grown-up."

How come I can sleep fine until 10 a.m./11 a.m./noon or 1 p.m., but can't go to bed and sleep at a reasonable hour?

I have a feeling the Dt. Coke machine and I will be getting better acquainted today.
