PROGRAMMING NOTE from the Author and Archivist

So obviously I just stopped blogging on this platform. I'll get back to it eventually. Or not. I'm taking a break from all social media. It seemed necessary for my mental health.

The last few years have been busy and … challenging:

- 2015 Happened.
- 2016 Let's call it The Lost Year. (Obviously words failed me.)
- 2017 about broke me. Literally. Mentally.
- 2018 was ridiculous, proving 2017 was just a warm up. (Good thing I was already broken so it couldn't hurt as much.#2018TrashCanFire I thought things were going okay, but maybe not?)

- 2019 was such a blur. I know there were highlights, but then stuff happened and carried into the next year...

- And then in March#2020 really took a turn. Who can even categorize 2020? Do we dare?

I kinda want a do-over of some of the last few years. But life doesn’t work that way.

So for now, I'm hunkering down. Regrouping. Trying to stay safe and sort some stuff out.

Stay safe everyone. Stay well.

Off to Play: Girl time with Amelia, Christine, and Melodi

c. 2012 at Governor's Island

More pictures soon, but off to NYC to play with Christine and Amelia and meet Amelia's new "daughter," a poodle named Melodi. I've been overbaking and food prepping all week. I think I made too much, but party-time means FOOOOOOD.

Nuts,
Crudite,
Crackers
Pesto Pinwheels,
Brownies,
Cookies,
and homemade dog biscuits

LATER:

It was a perfectly wonderfully, hot, sunscreen-needed, late "summer" NYC afternoon of talking, grazing around the roof-top kitchen bar, meeting new puppy niece Melodi, and hanging with the ladies.

I think I need a roof-top deck, with an herb-garden border, in my next apartment.

Ms. Melodi was having none of me, but LOVES Christine

Photo of the Day: Life's a ....

I don't know about you, but commuting is so doggone tiring!

Spotted on Metro-North, the day after the freak October 2011 snowstorm. This little passenger melted my heart. Which was good, because I was frozen from dealing with a rental car and then standing around in wet feet outside on a train platform for 40 minutes.

March for Babies: 2011 March Photos, Part 3

More Photos from the 2011 March for Babies, New York Edition

There were a plethora of cuties and a variety of conveyances to keep me amused on my solitary march through the avenues of Gotham.

It was an early morning, even for the little ones.
She's already started on the coffee.

Little kids are so cute.

Both dogs and kids agree, getting a ride makes the day more fun for little feet.
If you get a shoulder up, you get a better view.

Random Overheard Conversation

Overheard Friday evening while travelling through Grand Central Terminal.

Usually you only half listen to the announcements, as they are generally track assignments or the “canned” safety messages. This one caught my attention.

“Attention please, attention please!

Damian, please report to the upper level information booth. Your dog is free.

Attention please, attention please.

Damian, please retrieve your dog at the upper level information booth.”

No one else seemed to notice that a hellhound might be running around Grand Central?
